As artists, we continually evolve, growing in skill and in style. We are constantly changing. Should we discount our old work? I toyed with the idea of deleting all the old work that I no longer like. But, I came to the conclusion that it is still of value to me. I spent a lot of time creating it and while it's not my style now and it may not hold up to my current standards, it is still work that I can learn from. I can look back to see how I've grown, to determine what skills have improved, and to determine if I am making similar mistakes now so that I can improve my future work.
I'm sure in, say, five years from now, I'll look at todays work and think the same thing. If I don't, it's time to hang up my camera for good.
Keep growing, my friends.
