Anja create an interesting pattern on Hailey's face and hands using geometric and linear shapes that complimented Hailey's face. I wanted to capture her work with a basic beauty light. While that lighting is perfectly fine for bringing out a lovely representation of makeup and your model and it serves its purpose, I prefer dramatic images, especially for such a fun makeup look.
Because I built up to a more dramatic lighting setup, I thought it would make a good demonstration of the buildup and how changing the lighting affects an image.

Below is the first lighting idea. Additionally, in this shot that is closer to Hailey's face, you can see that Anja used a paint splatter effect as well as the bold geometric shapes.
The following image is a three light setup. Two gelled lights and one daylight balanced light set to just fill in the shadows.
