Mother's Day is tomorrow. Guessing from the number of restaurants that are packed, most families celebrate by going out to eat. We've celebrated in many different ways, including taking mom out to eat. This year, I wanted to do something different. My mom is a wonderful, caring, and kind person. So much so, that she rarely thinks about herself and always worries about everyone around her. The past couple of years have been especially difficult as my dad's health has declined and he's lost his vision to Macular Degeneration. My mom is not only a wife and best friend to my dad, she is now his eyes. Staying true to the vows she took almost 46 years ago, she has loved my father through sickness and health.
Because my mom has always been selfless and especially because these past couple of years have been increasingly stressful, I wanted to celebrate her beauty both inside and out. I arranged a "pamper me" day, where I did my mother's makeup, then took her photo. I want her to feel like the star that she is and I want her to see how beautiful she looks through the eyes of those around her.
We did the shoot in Warren, Michigan. Here are some of the images we created together.
