For this session, Cassie and I hiked to one of my favorite childhood locations. I always found this place to be magical. As a child, I would escape to this place so that I could daydream and let my imagination run wild.
One of my favorite places to visit for a day trip is Frankenmuth, Michigan. It's a charming little town with Bavarian styled store fronts. There are horse-pulled carriages clopping down the streets, a covered bridge spanning the slow moving Cass river, riverboat rides, walks along the river in Heritage parks, festivals, shopping, cheese, sausage, beer, and so much more. To learn about the history of Frankenmuth, visit http://www.frankenmuth.org/aboutus/history.
We are going this year and I'm having a heck of a time deciding what lens I want to bring. I want to travel light, but I also want to make sure I have enough range to cover the wide variety of photo opportunities. I may have to bring my 28-135, even though it's a slow lens, it's a good everyday lens.
Here are a few shots from my visit there last year:
I am a Warren, MI based photographer.
