Maya is 18 years old, but looks like a kitten. She is petite and sweet and very curious. She would make a lovely pet for someone who wants a loving and calm cat. Contact the Michigan Human Society Rochester Hills Center and ask for pet ID # 844080 if you would like to give her a home.
Oh my goodness! I was very fortunate to photograph Forrest for his adoptive parents. They now have official baby pictures of their new addition. Since he is being weened from mom, he is attached to his teddy bear, which is 3 times his size! In order to capture his personality and personalize the image, I used his teddy in the image with him.
I love making an image that looks like it was composited, but was done all in camera. Crafting your light just right carves your subject out of the background. This was a little tricky because we had 1 year old Echo with us and she was a bundle of energy. When you are using directed light, you don't have a lot of room for your subject to move and Echo wanted to move. Photographing pets takes patience, but the wait is worth it. Besides, I love getting kisses from slobbery tongues and seeing wagging tails and wiggling butts.
I also love this location. It is an overlooked gem in the middle of my city. I think people drive by it every day and don't even notice this green space. It reminds me of Ireland or Scotland. Fingers crossed that they never develop this spot. We need to have green spaces, not just for our existence and oxygen production, but for peace of mind.
The first two in my series: stalkers.
Thought it was fun to contrast wild and domesticated/canine and feline stalkers.
Praline has the most unique markings. I love her little white specks on her nose. It's as if she had her nose stuffed in a bag of powdered sugar chrusciki (Polish Angel Wings). She also is one of the sweetest and most laid back little ladies. If you can give Praline a home, contact the Michigan Humane Society Rochester Hills Center and ask for pet ID#827113
This kitten is so darn spunky! He was climbing over everything, exploring, pouncing, playing with a ball, kicking himself in the head. He was a lot of fun to photograph. His family has lots of fun playing with him and it's obvious he likes to play back.
Butterfly is a natural at modeling. She strikes a pose with the best of them. She is in need of a forever home. If you are interested in adopting her, contact the Michigan Humane Society Rochester Hills Center and ask for pet ID#825813. Here's a link to her description: http://www.michiganhumane.org/adoption/adopt-pet.html?petid=34867529
Today at the Rochester Hills Michigan Humane Society, we have four cats who need good homes. Click each cat to see the larger image and the pet ID in order to find them at michiganhumane.org.
Nike and Converse are brothers. Nike is the active and curious one and Converse is an absolute cuddle bug.
Mila is a dainty little 1 year old and is very sweet.
Thor is mighty but has a big heart. He does not hesitate to roll over for belly rubs.
I just love stormy skies. They add so much drama to an image. Especially for this one. I think it added to the story.
On top of it all, the approaching storm added a tremendous amount of color saturation. This session was simply gorgeous.
