Being an artist, Raena applied the paint to her hand and face. She chose the colors and application method. I determined the best way to light and shoot for the look. I wanted a black background so her paint color choices would "pop." I really do enjoy photographing artist and performers. There's a fantastic energy when creatives get together in the same room and the results are always fun.
Raena also likes urban decay and stained glass. While we didn't get stained glass, we were able to shoot against a brick backdrop right in my Warren, Michigan studio, giving her that urban feel. I also posed Raena for a few traditional looks so that all members of the family would have a portrait that they liked.
I wish Raena the best with her future in college, studying art and perfecting her craft.
